Frank Hogan Motors Donating 2 High Spec Bikes

Limerick Suicide Watch would like to say a huge thank you to Frank Hogan Limerick for donating two very high spec bikes for our patrol. Bikes are a huge part of our patrol as it means we can cover more ground and assist in an intervention a lot quicker when required. A big thank you to Ron Hogan for arranging this and for his continuous support.

Need for Limerick Suicide Watch has never been greater

LIMERICK Suicide Watch was founded four years ago by a group of volunteers who undertook nighttime patrols of the banks and bridges of River Shannon in response to the high rates of suicide and suicide attempts in the city.

On Saturday, September 26, social media influencer Sinead O’Brien of Sinead’s Curvy Style took part in the Cook Medical Women’s Mini Marathon to raise money for Limerick Suicide Watch and raised over €1,200. Sinead feels very strongly about the work the Limerick Suicide does and knows how important their work is for the community of Limerick city.

Last night one of our members had the pleasure of attending The Adare Manor Golf Club Anthony Foley Memorial Charity Event dinner. Following their hugely successful day of golf we attended a dinner with captain Jim Lyons, vice captain Gabriel Cosgrave and sponsors.

On Saturday, July 11, Limerick Stand Up Paddle Boarders Alan Kavanagh and Jason Roche took part in a midnight paddle of Limerick City’s River Shannon, dedicating the experience to the volunteers of the Limerick Suicide Watch night patrol. The excursion paid tribute to the great work they do in saving the lives of Limerick citizens, while also capturing the natural beauty and stillness of the River Shannon and its views.

Shannon RFC is delighted to bring you “The No Show Charity Game” – a game that won’t take place but they would like to sell out anyway! On June 5, at 8 pm Shannon RFC hopes to break a Guinness World Record by selling out Thomond Park for a fictitious game featuring the “Best Limerick XV” vs the “Best Irish XV”.
